About

One person, a catalogue, and a scoring function

VPN for me is a small independent site run from Texas. It exists because every VPN recommendation on the internet is an advertisement, and the only fix we could think of was to make the ranking a piece of code and the facts a table with dates on them.

What it is

A matcher. You answer five questions, a score ranks eight providers, and three picks come back with the facts that decided them. There is a full table for people who would rather read than answer. Nothing is sold here; every button takes you to the provider.

What it isn't

A lab, yet. We have not run our own speed or streaming tests; the dots summarise named 2026 tests that are linked on every page. We don’t accept sponsored placements, we don’t sell “featured” slots, and no provider sees the ranking before you do.

Why these eight

They are the ones a careful friend would actually mention: the four big audited names, the two privacy purists, and the two honest cheap options, including one with no affiliate programme at all. More will come as we check them properly; a provider we haven’t checked is worse than one we left out.
